We get it. A New Church can be intimidating!

We understand because we've all been there. We hope this page helps you know what to expect and to prepare for your visit to jesus name church.

First, just know there is no pressure from us to perform. Be yourself! You will find many types of people from all walks of life at Awaken. Some of us are bold and talkative, and some of us are reserved, but warm. Whether you are new to your faith, or whether you are a longtime follower of Jesus - you belong here!

Planning your visit? Here’s what a service looks like!

When you arrive, you will see friendly faces to welcome you in, offer you coffee and refreshments, and give you a gift. Part of our Core Mission is to experience hope, and community is a vital part of our services.

There may be announcements and times of prayer at various parts of the service. We will invite people to sit or stand during those times. We will let you know and won't leave you hanging. If you aren't comfortable standing, we understand.

We’ll begin with a five-minute countdown to give everyone time to find their seats and get settled. From there, we move into heartfelt, vibrant worship centered on Jesus, with lyrics displayed on the screen. Many will sing, clap, and fully engage, but you’re welcome to participate at whatever level feels comfortable for you.

Our pastor or another minister will share a practical, Bible-based message centered on the teachings of Jesus and the power of His Name. The preaching will be heartfelt, challenging, and meant to help all of us know Jesus more deeply and live out our faith in everyday life.

Everything at Jesus Name Church is designed to help people experience hope in the Name of Jesus and discover the purpose God has for their lives. Our mission is to build a community grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ, where everyone is welcomed into a hope-filled life through His Spirit.

  • We meet at:

    Bourbon, MO 65441

  • On Sundays Discipleship Classes start at 11:00 AM and Worship Service starts at 12:00 PM

    On Wednesdays Midweek Bible Study starts at 6:30 PM

  • Come as you are. Wear what's comfortable and feels appropriate to you. We will be fairly casual.

  • Our worship services usually last between 75 and 90 minutes.

  • Please do! Bring friends and family.

  • While generosity is one of our core values that allow us to have services and give back to our community in various ways, we don't expect our guests to give unless they feel personally motivated to do so. This service is our gift to you.
